We Open At Nine

It’s that quirky small town business that does whatever the hell it wants.
No, we don’t have a database. No, we aren’t open Sunday mornings. Yes, the coffee is free, and yes, it’s terrible. And yes, the cat does live here all the time.
“The Bookshop” has all of the character and subtle disorganization of the perfect used bookstore; the one you’ll hide in on a rainy Saturday and quickly feel like you belong.
Some pretty amazing things end up here, from old photographs & news articles to sentimental notes penned on title pages, to the most strange and hilarious local characters. It was those notes that first sparked my desire to share the things blog-style, but it’s our regulars whose stories just need to be heard.
So here’s how it’ll work: most posts will be actual title page notes, others will be anecdotes of my interactions with our favorite customers. Out of respect for the privacy of these customers (and the credibility of my employers) everything will be pseudonymous. No real names, no location info.
I can’t promise I won’t rant a little. You’re not a bibliophile if you don’t have a few opinions.
Happy reading times,
The Bookshop Girl
